BIG SLATE VFX LAUNCH MARKS NEW ERA FOR KNOXVILLE’S CREATIVE INDUSTRY

Big Slate Media, a leading Knoxville-based agency and video production company, is proud to announce the launch of Big Slate VFX, a new division specializing in visual effects and motion design. With this launch, Big Slate Media becomes the only Knoxville-based production company offering full-service, in-house VFX capabilities. “With the launch of our new VFX division, Big Slate Media is proud to fill a critical gap in the Knoxville market,” said Big Slate Media Owner and Executive Producer Jonathan Halley. “For too long, high-end visual effects work has required outsourcing to larger cities, but now, those capabilities exist right here at home. This expansion is not only a big step forward for Big Slate and our clients, but helps put Knoxville back in the national production spotlight. We’re excited to bring more creative opportunities to the region and showcase the incredible talent we have in East Tennessee.”

The division is led by Alan Collins, a visual effects artist and director with over 15 years of experience in film, television and live events. Collins’ portfolio includes contributions to “Sesame Street,” “Sword of Trust” and music videos for AJR, as well as designing visual backgrounds for Ciara’s live performances. He brings expertise in compositing, motion design and on-set VFX supervision, blending technical precision with creative problem-solving to support bold visual storytelling.

“The launch of this VFX division unlocks unlimited opportunities for our creative team and clients,” added Director of VFX Alan Collins. “It also represents the evolution of the industry and Big Slate’s desire to be change makers and trailblazers. It’s good for us, but it’s also good for Knoxville’s production community.”

Big Slate VFX expands the company’s creative services to include green screen compositing, VFX clean-up, 3D animation, motion design, object removal and more. These services help clients solve post-production challenges, enhance the polish of their content and bring ambitious visual concepts to life for broadcast, digital campaigns and live events.

With in-house VFX now available, Big Slate Media offers a unique value for agencies, brands and production companies seeking high-end visual effects without the delays and costs of typical outsourcing.
